Notre histoire

In the vibrant heart of Southern California, a transformative idea emerged from the shared vision of Jaylen Davis and Luxamira Sanchez. They dreamed of creating a brighter future for children from low-income families through innovative after-school programs. This vision became Our Way Home, a non-profit organization empowering students to achieve their fullest potential. As we approach our soft launch in Q4 of 2025, we reflect on our journey and the mission driving us forward.

Building a Vision

Jaylen Davis and Luxamira Sanchez, co-founders of Our Way Home, drew inspiration from their own childhood experiences. Recognizing the life-changing impact of supportive after-school programs, they set out to create a space where children could explore their interests, develop essential skills, and build meaningful relationships in a safe, nurturing environment.

Expanding Horizons

Our Way Home is preparing to operate across Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County, and Orange County, ensuring more children and families benefit from our impactful programs. This expansion reflects our commitment to serving diverse communities and addressing their unique challenges.

Seasonal Operations

From May through November, Our Way Home delivers impactful after-school programs that provide transformative opportunities for students. We foster creativity, academic growth, and life skills in a supportive environment during this time.

From December through May, we strategically pause direct programming to focus on strengthening relationships with donors, exploring new community partnerships, and refining our offerings. This intentional approach ensures that our programs remain dynamic and responsive to the needs of the communities we serve.

Empowering Through Programs

Our Way Home offers programs designed to help students thrive, including:

  • Academic Support: Tutoring and homework help to boost academic success.

  • Arts and Culture: Fostering creativity through music, dance, theater, and visual arts.

  • Sports and Recreation: Promoting physical fitness and teamwork.

  • STEM Education: Inspiring curiosity with hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math activities.

  • Leadership and Life Skills: Preparing students to navigate challenges and lead confidently.

Looking Ahead

As we near our Q4 2025 soft launch, we are excited about the possibilities ahead. Our Way Home is more than a non-profit—it’s a movement to create opportunities for children who might otherwise be overlooked. We are committed to empowering every child to thrive, regardless of background.
